Il Paese Numana è una cittadina costiera dell'Adriatico centrale, che sorge alle pendici meridionali del monte Conero. Il territorio di Numana è compreso per il 91,8% all'interno del Parco regionale del Conero  Situata all'interno del Parco del Cònero, al centro dell'Adriatico, Numana si divide in Numana Alta situata sul pendio della collina con le sue caratteristiche case calcaree in pietra del Conero e le sue viuzze piene di curiosità, e Numana Bassa situata lungo il porto e l'arenile e più giovanile creando così un meraviglioso intreccio fra moderno e antico. La spiaggia, ha 2 diverse conformazioni: a nord del porticciolo presenta una costa a falesia, con spiagge nascoste tra insenature mentre a a sud, fino a Marcelli si trova una larga spiaggia di ghiaia fine, più facilmente accessibile. Alle spalle della città ci sono i campi coltivati e la boscaglia mediterranea cui il monte Cònero fa da sfondo.
